Have the ability to "lock" a session from admin role to avoid any action on that session

In some d/r configuration where you can setup a MM-GMp session normally working but also a GM reverse session from H3 to H1 to protect the data when you switch to H3 site to run production, it could be advisable to have the ability for the admin role to lock a session to prevent an accidental command on a session that has to be left in a freezed state because of the procedure execution sequence actually in place.

The ability to lock an object is already available on HMC for Z platform servers (like z13,z14 and z15) since a long time.

I also like the idea being able to lock a session from any user commands. This may be desirable when multiple sessions manage the same pairs for a limited time frame as in the described scenario (GM back from Site 3 for Sessions that do not have Journals on primary site, or during Session migration or transition scenarios).

A general lock to a session prevents that a command is issued to the wrong session by mistake while pairs are managed with more than one session.

A work around that may help to 'lock' the session at least for operating users is to remove the Session from the list of sessions that the operator users can manage. However, this does not lock other administrators to issue commands to the wrong session.
