When a PPRC session is being built within CSM, if the source and target SSIDs match, there should be a warning or a message that clearly states why this is a problem.

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

We had a configuration error in our PPRC target where the SSID of the target was the same is the primary. CSM allowed us to create the copyset even though the SSIDs were not unique.

Matching SSIDs is supported by the DS8000. It is only a requirement with Hyperswap to have unique SSIDs. The issues encountered that lead to the opening of this IDEA were not related to the fact that you had matching SSIDs. They were because GDPS was using the old way to create the GM relationships on the hardware, and not using the new way that supports multi-target configs. CSM will not be implementing a warning given this is a valid setup.
