Utilise RACF PassTickets for Host Connections from CSM on DS8K HMC to z/OS system.

Current and only available method for Host connection from the CSM residing on the DS8K HMC to the z/OS system requires authentication via a normal RACF defined userid and password on z/OS.  However, customer password expiration policies dictate a 30 day expiry for ALL password, hence then in CSM we have to remove Host connection and then add it back each time the password is reset, so we can maintain connectivity for the next 30 days.  This connectivity is required for z/OS HyperSwap enablement.  If a RACF PassTicket was available and implemented for authentication, or something similar perhaps via certificates alone, then this would be a much more appropriate method of maintaining the Host connection.

I fully support the above proposal. Relying on a mainframe authentication mechanism that utilises a non-expiring password nowadays is unacceptable given the current threat landscape.
